California Wildfire Survivors Rebuild - New York Says Thank You (NYSTY)

10 FDNY firefighters including Jimmy Sands, E-10 and Mark Medina, L-10, flew to San Diego on November 2, 2007, to spend the weekend in San Diego County helping clean up the Dulzura home of Earl Carter, a carpenter who volunteered to help rebuild 20 homes after the 2003 Cedar Fire, and Dan Lachenbruch, the La Mesa firefighter whose Rancho Bernardo home burned to the ground while he was working to save other people’s homes from the Harris Fire.

FF Jimmy Sands, Engine 10, and FF Vinny Fennimore, Ladder 10, along with other FDNY Firefighters traveled to Groesbeck, Texas and joined other local and national volunteers to rebuild the home of James and Eva Vincent.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of our two FDNY Brothers of Ladder 5 Engine 24 who made the Supreme Sacrifice in the Deutsche Bank building fire across from our House on August 18, 2007.
